Fresh floral notes and an intense spiciness introduce very ripe, astonishingly complex flavors that display layer upon layer of depth and superb intensity. This is the best wine in the cellar today with mouth coating and palate staining extract and this is very classy juice. Harmonious and pure with incredible elegance for such a powerful wine that this should be capable of 30+ years of cellar potential. Superb quality here. - BH

From magnum. Clear bright mid red, cheerful pure still discreet nose, it was more explosive on decanting. Rich full grand cru texture, a real grand cru at last, fabulous through the middle to the back, velvet coat on a fine bone structure, hits the heady heights, really very fine. No specific fruit flavour but a wonderful combination of them all. Later on the fruit darkens but won’t stop blossoming. It brings tears to the eyes, perfect balance, offering a wonderful sense of the vineyard and equally a sense of the person. - JM

An exceptional wine, Grivot’s 2002 Richebourg explodes from the glass with violets, roses, blackberries, dark cherries, and spices. Marrying elegance with unbridled power, it is a medium to full-bodied, satin-textured jewel. Cloves, assorted candied black fruits, and red cherries can be discerned in its complex flavor profile, and it appears this wine is holding loads of fruit in reserve. Armed with gorgeous depth, concentration, and length, this is a candidate for drinking between 2009 and 2024. Bravo! - WA
