Leonetti is arguably the greatest estate for Cabernet Sauvignon in Washington. Preferring elegance and balance over extraction, these beautiful wines also have the structure for aging. The family domaine was founded by Gary and Nancy Figgins in 1977. The name comes from Gary’s grandmother, an Italian immigrant to the United States. Leonetti was the first bonded winery in Walla Walla and to this day has been producing exceptional wines for a loyal fan base. The winery produces four wines, all from their own vineyards, including a Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese, and a reserve blend. The wines exhibit concentration without being overly extracted, offering delicious flavors upon release while also aging gracefully. Total production is only around 5500 cases annually. In 2001, Gary’s son Chris took over as head winemaker and has overseen the entire estate since 2011, with no intention of changing the style of these elegant wines.
